Plummer is earliest actor to win Oscar

PlummerChristopher Plummer's supporting actor Academy Award for Mike Mills' "Beginners" gave him a definite niche in Oscar history Sunday -- at 82, he grew to become the earliest person receiving an aggressive acting Oscar.Plummer received a standing ovation Sundauy evening and started his acceptance by searching in the statuette and stating, "I had been only 2 yrs over the age of you, darling. Where are you currently the relaxation of my existence?"Plummer was competing against another 82-year-old, Max Von Sydow for "Very Noisy, Incredibly Close," together with Kenneth Branagh for "My Week with Marilyn," Jonah Hill for "Moneyball" and Nick Nolte for "Warrior." Plummer was formerly nominated within the supporting category in '09 for "The Final Station." "After I emerged in the womb, I had been practicing my Oscar speech," he quipped Sunday.Jessica Tandy continues to be earliest lead acting champion, setting that mark when she won charge actress Oscar at 80 for 1989's "Driving Miss Daisy."
